Director, Urban Ministry Centre
Bombay, INDIA.
The purpose of the Urban Ministry Centre is to serve churches and parachurches in the cities of South Asia, stimulating their growth and ministry through four means: research; training programs; networking churches and ministries that are similar in their work; and resourcing churches in materials and manpower. Although the UMC originally focused on Bombay, it now facilitates national networks, consultations and training conferences, along with certificate level courses for urban pastors in conjunction with seminaries and Bible schools. Viju is an international networker with connections to the Lausanne Committee, AD 2000, and other international movements committed to world evangelization. Viju is used as a resource speaker at specialized conferences such as the India AIDS conference. He helped convene the first North American consultation for South Asian Christians.
